Suki Waterhouse, Burberry, Met Gala

Suki Waterhouse in this Burberry dress is pretty much everything so far. Karolina Kurkova comes a close second (or maybe first after all?) in Marchesa. LOVED her blue flower print dress. Continue reading

Dee Hutton

photo-66

New York based designer Nedenia Hutton Craig was in LA this week with her second collection for Dee Hutton, a line of made to order gowns, cocktail dresses and separates in gorgeous colors, fabrics and combos. The line is available only by showroom appointments and ambassador-hosted trunk shows nationwide, which is part of the lines underlying ethos of old school girlish charm. I stopped by the Chateau yesterday to see it in person and immediately fell in love with Nedenia and her knack for pairing my favorite colors together. She is another staunch believer in the color olive green, which I think should be a staple in every girls closet. More of the collection below. Continue reading

Duff’s Cake Mix

photo-64

Baltimore boy Duff Goldman opened up Charm City Cakes in LA almost two years ago followed soon after by Duff’s Cake Mix next door, where you can decorate and create whatever you want on your own cake or with a party of friends and sweet lovers. It’s kind of genius and last night they invited a group of Duff fans to sample the process along with a gazillion cupcakes and treats. It was a beautiful sight and I am proud to say my goddaughter won the decorating contest at our table and got to take home a cake like the one above. Just in time for her birthday. Continue reading

Tiffany Atlas Collection

Tiffany atlas key

Tiffany & Co had a cocktail party in PH64 last night at the Chateau Marmont hosted by gorgeous Jessica Biel to celebrate their new Atlas Collection. I am obsessed with the key pendant above and even more gaga over the present they handed us walking out the door. As if sipping champagne with friends on a rooftop at dusk in LA wasn’t special enough we were handed magical blue bags with white ribbons as we left the party. Evidence below. I am not cool enough not to be excited. Continue reading

Props For The Day, LA

photo-61

Spending the week in LA doing meetings, a shoot or two and a fitting. I can finally bring my heels out again! I love having a car, I’m not going to lie. That is one thing I miss being back in NYC all the time is relying on cabs and other people’s cars when the urge to wear five inch heels hits. And it hits a lot. Love the Liebeskind bag and Erickson Beamon ring I borrowed for the week with Aldo heels.

Boyhood

I saw Richard Linkater’s latest masterpiece, “Boyhood,” which he made over the course of twelve years, at Sundance in January. Bawled my eyes out. Loved every minute. And then the last scene closes with my favorite song from Family of The Year. This film is magical. It’s out soon. Go see it.

Sorel Fall 2014 Preview

sorel suede lace up

I went to see Sorel‘s fall 2014 collection this week and as usual there are boots for every occasion; desert concerts and city treks, summer nights with dresses and winter days with jeans. I lived in my Joan of Arctic wedge mid boot this whole winter. Through Sundance and New York City hikes (they say New Yorkers walk an average of five miles a day) and even on trips to sunny LA. They are by far the most comfortable wedges I own and I can literally walk for miles in them. I like the added height they give me and since it’s almost impossible to live in my heels the way I want to in the city without also living in a cab or car service, they let me be me without too much trouble.
