Rudderless, Boyhood, Sundance 2014

RUDDERLESSPM

Oh Sundance. Today was a perfect day that started last night with Zach Braff’s fantastic new film Wish I Was Here and continued this morning with Richard Linklater’s incredible 12 year in the making Boyhood and William H. Macy’s directorial debut Rudderless, which I think is going to win the festival. Basically, I have been crying since last night at 6pm. Zach wrote and directed another funny melancholy “what is the meaning of life” film, which is the underlying tone of all three gems. Humor and a search for meaning amidst the tragic and everyday of life. Boyhood was filmed over the course of 12 years as the main character grows up. It is filled with moments that seem to ping back to every film Linklater has ever made. Elements of Continue reading

Sundance Press Line Essentials

faux fur imposterSorel boot

There are a few essentials at Sundance that no girl should be without. I have been living in my Imposter for Animals faux fur vest and of course my Sorel boots, which I pair with dresses and tights. In my bag I always have my schedule, my press pass, a bag of almonds, a pack of Reboot and this year’s addition, the Boomphone pocket speaker which is a really fun gadget. It links to your iPhone via Bluetooth and plays music from your iTunes collection. If only I could fit a small bed inside my purse to take naps on while we wait in line for films. Continue reading

Sundance 2014 Day One

Hellion

First day of Sundance 2014 was perfect. I started the day with a beautiful film from the World Documentary competition, Thomas Balmes’ Happiness, which was shot and edited like an impeccable narrative. It’s a melancholy tale of Bhutan, a village being modernized and adapting to change, through the eyes of a young boy. Definitely heart breaking but in that good way when you know you are watching something magical happen on screen. Anton Corbijn’s new film A Most Wanted Man is everything you would Continue reading

Golden Globes 2014 Dresses & Parties

Globes 2014

Sunday night was spent at the Beverly Hilton with the InStyle girls and Warner Bros, celebrating in a packed room of Golden Globes winners and nominees, as well as Miss Golden Globe herself, Miss Sosie Bacon. Sosie wore a Kora Rae dress off my awards season fashion rack to all the parties and I was pretty happy being in a Kevin and Kyra sandwich at the InStyle party. This is without a doubt the coolest most amazing family in Hollywood. Kindness and happiness just emanate from them and make me believe in love again. Ok, enough gushing love talk. More photos from the night below. I forgot to take a single photo of myself by the way. Was having way too much fun on Instagram (I probably over-grammed a little this weekend). I wore the same dress to the party I’ve worn the past two years, only this year it was in grey with a yellow Kotur clutch and the Nine West heels above. Continue reading

DVF, Journey Of A Dress

DVF floor

Friday night Diane von Furstenberg hosted the opening of her epic exhibition at Wilshire May Company Building, next door to LACMA. It was a packed house of who’s who of film and fashion and the show itself was stunning. The dresses and the art work from legends across the globe was astounding and beautiful. Everyone from Demi Moore to Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow were there along with Anna Wintour and Andre Leon Talley (we spotted Moby by the champagne bar as well). The show will be up through April 2014. Go see it, it’s a must. Below, pics from the night. Continue reading

Audi Golden Globes 2014

Audi heels and clutch

Last night was Audi’s annual Golden Globes party at Cecconi’s, which has become tradition. We spotted Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber being cute in a corner and spent a good portion of the night hanging out with Nikki Deloach and Molly Tarlov. Cuties. Oh and Michel Comte was there with his wife Ayako Yoshida. They have a film at Sundance this year, which I am dying to see. New leopard heels form Nine West and a Katherine Kwei clutch, which I wore last night above, more photos below. Continue reading

Sosie Bacon, Miss Golden Globes

Sosie Globes Lunch selfie

Yesterday the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Moet & Chandon hosted a luncheon for this year’s Miss Golden Globes, Sosie Bacon (Kyra and Kevin’s daughter!) She is a sweet, smart, and sassy New York City girl, equal parts brain, beauty and stylish ink boot. I got to do a few shots with her on the rooftop of the Beverly Hilton (yes, I love my new iPhone…) during the luncheon, which you can check out below. Did I mention Forevermark gave me a diamond ring to wear this weekend? Yes, I have to give it back but doesn’t it look just right on my finger? My weekend bling ring and a Golden Globe statue, which followed us at lunch above. Continue reading

The 40th Annual People's Choice Awards - Arrivals

I dressed Nikki Deloach last night, for the People’s Choice Awards, in a dress by Raoul paired with a satin roll clutch from Amanda Pearl, some Nine West heels and insanely beautiful diamonds from Forevermark. By the way, she gave birth to her son Hudson three months ago. Yeah, three months. Continue reading
