Beauty Round Up: Rodial, Philip Kingsley & St.Tropez

Lots of great new beauty products showing up on my doorstep the past few weeks. I tried the new Philip Kingsley Moisture Extreme Shampoo and Conditioner duo and kind of went crazy for it. It’s great for thicker curly hair and left mine softer and shinier. During Globes weekend a friend of mine let me burrow through her beauty bag and I found St.Tropez’s Instant Glow Body Lotion, which was perfect for a last minute tan touch up on my legs after I put on my party dress. It gave my skin a really nice shimmer for the night. And around Christmas time Rodial sent me a little surprise, their Glam Balm lip gloss, which is perfect for everyday (and will be great for Sundance next week). Continue reading

Golden Globes 2013 Dresses & Parties

Another fun Globes weekend! So many gorgeous dresses all week. Dawn Olivieri wore a young designer out of London, Sarah Baadarini, to the W Magazine Guess event last week and last night she wore another young designer out of NYC, Novis, to the Warner Bros InStyle party. Nikki Deloach wore an Aryn K dress to the same W Guess event and she wore a gorgeous Kevan Hall gown to the InStyle after party. More photos from the night as well as red carpet favorites from all the stunning ladies. Continue reading

Golden Globes Beauty Routine

It may sound a bit extreme to start getting ready for a party weeks in advance but that’s actually being generous this time of year. If you include finding all of the dresses, then we’ve been getting ready since early December, which is when I made my requests for clients’ dresses. We had fittings before the holidays and everyone had their dresses and looks ready to go come January 1st. This week was full of final touches, last minute diamond runs (who can complain about those?) and a lot of beauty treatments. Mine started on Thursday with a facial, microdermabrasion and waxing at Skin Body Lounge in Studio City. Friday morning it continued with a mani from The Painted Nail and spray tan from Brown Buns at Nine Zero One Salon and later that afternoon a blow out at the HBO L’Oreal Beauty Lounge at the Four Seasons to get ready for Friday’s W Magazine party. Saturday morning I got another blow out from Joico artist Mika Fowler (who has a way of making my hair look extra long!) at Gavert Atelier in Beverly Hills to tide me over thru Sunday since I can’t get to a salon today, the day of the Golden Globes here at the Beverly Hilton. It’s going to be a fun night!xo

W Magazine Golden Globes Party At The Chateau

Last night I went to the W Magazine Golden Globes party at the Chateau with my friend Estella Warren (we also did a lingerie shoot together this week that we’ll post soon). The party was upstairs in PH64 (see above, also my favorite shoot location). The Chateau was packed with so many nominees and amazing talent in every direction. Pics of Estella and much cooler guests than I, below. Continue reading

Carolee Schneemann At FilmForum LA

This Sunday, January 13th at 7:30pm legendary artist and filmmaker Carolee Schneemann is going to be at the Los Angeles Filmforum with new video work. I interned with Carolee many years ago while studying film at Bard, she is amazing and her work preceded that of Karen Finley and other revolutionary performance artists. I won’t be able to be there Sunday as I will be in lockdown at the Beverly Hilton for Golden Globes but if you are interested in the old Avant Garde, and are not booged down with the night’s other festivities, this is one of film’s reigning experimental queens and really worth seeing. It’s a pretty cool and rare opportunity to meet an artist like her and see her work up close. “Carolee Schneemann: New videos of the Performing Artist” will be at the Spielberg Theatre at the Egyptian, 6712 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90028. Tickets are available online or at the Continue reading

Nikki Deloach & Molly Tarlov at The PCA’s

Awkward won People’s Choice last night! One of my favorite shows from way before I started working with some of their amazing cast! So happy for everyone involved, it’s an absolutely brilliantly funny show. I dressed Nikki Deloach and Molly Tarlov for the occasion. Nikki above and Molly below. Nikki is wearing a dress by Dilek Halif with a Kotur clutch and Nola Singer bracelet and earrings and Molly is wearing a Nadia Tarr dress, Amanda Pearl clutch and Abbelan New York diamond bracelet.
